The “tough guy” brigade is steamrolling through Washington, spouting masculinity and freedom—but in reality, it’s pettiness posing as policy. The more ignorant the asshole, the cooler they are. Decency is dead. Free insurrectionists, fire workers indiscriminately (without even understanding what they do), cut cancer research, and gut oversight agencies. Upend USAID and dismantle DEI. Install the unqualified. Screw over the vulnerable and whine that compassion is oppression.
We teach our kids to help others, yet these self-styled alphas throw tantrums at the slightest breath — like it’s a civil rights crisis to have their intentions questioned. Simply suggesting minorities matter sends them into a meltdown. It’s egocentrism over empathy, cruelty over competence.
Maybe they were bullied as kids, never got enough hugs, or weren’t invited to the cool parties. Now, emboldened with a taste of power, they’re out for revenge — tenfold. Women? People of color? The disabled? Screw you, you’ve had enough. Need malaria medicine? Screw you. A loan for school? Screw you too. They could use their power to solve real problems, but instead, they’d rather tear down anything that threatens their fragile egos and the broken vestige of their manhood.
To silence the little voice in their heads that knows they’re morally bankrupt, they launder twisted facts and conspiracy theories. But no one’s fooled. They’re insecure, brittle souls, desperate to be loved. Money hasn’t filled their bottomless void nor earned them respect from the people they crave it from, so they resort to grievance and cruelty.
But here’s the real kicker — who are they even fighting? They’ve already won! They have all the money and influence imaginable. They already have the capability to solve any problem. Yet they focus on performative toughness instead of doing anything meaningful.
This isn’t strength. This isn’t governance. This isn't leadership. Real leadership unites and builds, even in the face of adversity. Malice divides and burns everything in its path.
If they truly wanted to prove their strength, they’d build something worth defending. They’d go after real waste, fraud, and abuse (hint: look at the biggest budget line item). But they won’t. They’re cowards. They'd rather pick fights with Ebola scientists, then crumble and cry when challenged.
Spite and insecurity destroy; vision and will create. This isn’t about making anything better — it’s about punching down so they can feel strong and bask in the admiration of the online sycophants who try to live vicariously through them.
We see you.
